Intel Iris Xe Max Discrete GPU for Slim Laptops Announced, Promises AI and Encoding Performance Boost

Intel’s 11th Gen Core ‘Tiger Lake’ CPUs are the first to feature the company’s new integrated Xe graphics architecture. Just as laptops built around these CPUs are going on sale in many parts of the world, the company has revealed that some of them will also ship with its first discrete GPU, the Intel Iris Xe Max. In a surprise announcement, Intel has also disclosed details of how laptops can use integrated and discrete Xe GPUs together to increase graphics performance and accelerate certain kinds of compute-intensive or AI-based tasks.

The Intel Iris Xe Max name first leaked when Intel included the product badge in a presentation of its brand identify overhaul in September. More recently, it has appeared in listings from laptop manufacturers, including a recent Acer laptop launch announcement

The Intel Iris Xe Max GPU is based on the same Xe-LP GPU as the integrated GPUs

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra leaks have been abundant, and the latest round comprise details on possible production commencement and an updated render that shows rear camera tweaks to the most premium model in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S21 series. Samsung is expected to introduce the next generation S series flagship sometime in January next year. Samsung W21 5G Foldable Phone Tipped to Launch on November 4; TENAA Listing Hints Specifications

Samsung W21 5G foldable phone is reportedly launching in China on November 4. The smartphone is identical to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 launched in China earlier. The notable difference between the two phones is that the W21 5G is tied with China Telecom carrier for 5G connectivity. Last year, the company launched Samsung W20 5G in a similar manner. Samsung W20 5G is a 5G-ready version of Galaxy Fold powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ SoC, instead of the Snapdragon 855 SoC. Samsung W21 5G was also spotted on TENAA recently, offering a glimpse into its possible key specifications.

Twitter Representatives Apologise for Showing Leh in China at Joint Parliamentary Panel hearing

Twitter representatives on Thursday verbally apologised for geo-tagging Leh, the capital city of the Union Territory of Ladakh, as part of China while appearing before the Joint Parliamentary Committee on Personal Data Protection Bill, 2019. The committee, however, has asked the microblogging site to follow it up with a written apology and also submit an affidavit in the matter.

A Twitter spokesperson said they remain committed to working with the Government of India and that they respect the sensitivities involved.

Committee chairman and BJP parliamentarian Meenakshi Lekhi had earlier said that Twitter’s explanation in the matter was inadequate and that its action amounts to a criminal offence attracting imprisonment of seven years.
